Organize client rooms and storage areas to best viewing effect.

Coordinating many aspects of the move including: booking movers, packing, supplying packing materials, unpacking and setting up on the other end.

Helping coordiante sale of furniture or recommending estate sale services for on site sales.

Personally donate all smaller items at no cost to client (if as a result of sessions performed on site).

Coordinate off site storage or Portable Trailers (PODS) as well as pack them.

Coordinate trash removal, contractors such as ground services or painters, cleaning services etc.

The majority of home owners have good intentions when they say, `We`ll take care of getting the house ready`` But come the listing date you`ve established, how often is it the case? Life gets busy and overwhelming. It can be frustrating for a all concerned. You don`t want to be seen to be pushing too hard yet.... Let me your gentle bad cop. I have ways to move clients forward - to get them decluttered, packed up, organized and ready for you to do your job, for your stager, painter, cleaner to do theirs.

Q: How long does it take to declutter a room or storage area?

A: Unlike a carpet layer or painter who knows how many square feet you have to cover and which materials you have decided on, an organizer has to get an idea of the ability of the family member or members they are working with and what is being decluttered and organized. More often than not the home owner has long forgotten what is hidden beneath the piled boxes. Each house and storage area is different and only after a consultation can an organizer give an proper estimate (written)of time and materials needed. Often an organizer will be recommended by a stager who may include that service in their price. I make a stager`s life much easier. Should time be booked a recommendation of a trusted fellow organizer will be offered.

Q: How can the agent obtain an estimate?

A: A consultation with or without a written estimate is a $55.00 plus HST. This offers details and an informative consultation to discuss needs and get an idea of the extent of the work. This small cost if often picked up by the agent or stager to show good will. I also offer gift certificates you may use to help prod clients forward. Often a sales representative will add my services to heighten their profile in order to solidify listings. Simply call (416-460-8098, (905) 469-0908 or email info@decluttering.ca.

Q: Are organizers insured?

A:Yes, good ones are. And each organizer will note what they are willing or unwilling to move or pack given their liability concerns.

Q: If you wish another organizer where do you look?

A: If you do not have an organizer one may be found to suit by reviewing listing in your area via the Professional Organizers in Canada web site at: http://www.organizersincanada.com/. This is an association of organizers with registered companies who are adhering to a code of ethics and responsible business behavior.

Q: How long has Decluttering.ca been in business?

A: Stephen Ilott has run Decluttering.ca full time for nine years and has organized over 700 homes. He has a background in spatial design, senior project management and detail organization. His talents, communication and people skills have earned him nominations in the industry and praise from numerous clients.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book your time?

A: Each month is different though peak times correspond to real estate peak seasons. So try and plan at least a week in advance.
