Steve's Media Appearances.

Stephen will speak to any group interested in a spirited, passionate presentation on overcoming the stress of clutter and reinventing your life. Steve 'gets' you and your battles. He works with your energies. He is always learning and passing along what he learns. He is empathic to your needs and boundaries. Are you reinventing your life and need some ideas? Call.

His enthusiasm and passion for the subject matter has attendees has his attendees scribbling notes furiously.

He has also been called Canada's Domestic Archaeologist which is also the title of his book. "The Domestic Archaeologist" (In the works)

"Steve's lectures offer motivational and inspirational insight into the emotional world of the stuff that owns us peppered with touching and often humorous, true life stories." Decluttering Your Minds and Spaces Workshop at the Toronto Public Library January 2010, Barbara Frum Branch

Like a true digger into the past he sifts through layers of many lives in search of the path to restore lives to what they once were or more often what they wanted to be. Via anecdotes and thought provoking perceptions he gets audiences cranked for change and inspired to declutter.

Letting go of the past to move forward is no easy feat. Establishing who you are and what serves you is key. Professional Organizers are gurus of stuff - sympathetic and catalysts for change.

Lecturing at the Oakville Milton Realty Board Annual Convention on Organizing for Seniors

Attendees have said: "I attended two of Steve's seminars - his thoughts on the psychological and emotional aspects of getting organized or "decluttered" in our lives. He has seen first hand the anxiety many of us have about getting rid of the stuff and the relief when we finally let it go. Steve, demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to his client's emotions at all times. Timing, as Steve knows, is also important. I highly recommend going to listen to Steve speak about what he does and recommend him to anyone who needs assistance in decluttering their lives." - Sincerely, Mary Trudelle, The Well-Tended Garden, Oakville Ontario.

“Steve Ilott is a great speaker with an entertaining style. He informs with his humour and is to be enjoyed by all." Nick DeCastro.

Book for your corporate group, women's club, church gathering, luncheon speaking roster or event. Lectures can be customized to suite the needs of your group. Please inquire about workshops, break out sessions, seminars, wellness events etc.

Using humor, plain talk and heaping dollops of perspective he reveals empowering techniques to help attendees learn how not to be overwhelmed by the clutter in their homes and how to effectively reclaim their lives and spaces. Speaking to the Probus chapter of Hamilton at the Hamilton Airport Museum.

"Steve is a very dynamic and engaging individual and have had the pleasure of hearing him lecture on several occasions. No matter what group he speaks to - the result is always the same - lots of laughter and people walk away wanting to hear more! I would highly recommend Steve is you are looking for a speaker or an MC. - Alison King - Time to Get Organized" June 4, 2010

The Crawl Space: a nice before and after visual. This space had not been delved into/cleared since 1960's. People forget what they live over and breath. It was two days of sifting, clearing and maneuvering in a three foot high space to get it done so the home owners could move forward.

What Lecture and workshop attendees learned:

  • There isn't anything so serious you can't step back, regroup and look at it differently to change your life.
  • Letting Go Doesn't mean losing memories.
  • Your House is Your Sanctuary.
  • Be positive about disposing of stuff.
  • Don't keep gifts just out of loyalty to a friend. Let go of belongings you no longer need to liberate your life.
  • What are the emotions attached to my stuff?
  • Do I want the item or the space it occupies?
  • There is hope for my home.
  • Every room should be defined by its use.
  • Create photo albums of memories and delete the items themselves. Clear clutter for emotional space Choose what you love most when decluttering.
